GreenZen Solutions at the Opening of Munich’s Bike Logistics Hub: Innovation Meets Urban Development

IMG 0790

On July 17, 2025, Germany’s largest bike logistics hub was inaugurated in Munich’s historic Paketposthalle. The city is sending a strong signal for sustainable delivery concepts and the transformation of urban mobility. GreenZen Solutions was on-site as a technology partner of DACHSER, presenting a true innovation: the first actively cooled cargo bike unit used in DACHSER Food Logistics’ cold chain operations.

Our Contribution: Rethinking Cooled City Logistics

The cooling container developed by GreenZen Solutions is specially designed for use with cargo bikes and enables temperature-controlled deliveries in city centers — emission-free and efficient. Temperature-sensitive products such as food are kept consistently cool in the Last Mile Climate Control (LMCC) Cube, which meets the highest standards of hygiene and transport quality.

As part of a pilot project with DACHSER, the LMCC Cube is already being used for daily deliveries and tested directly from the new hub. The combination of innovative cooling technology and sustainable transport solutions marks an important step toward climate-friendly city logistics.

High-Profile Guests and Strong Partners

The opening was attended by:

- Dieter Reiter, Mayor of Munich

- Georg Dunkel, Head of Mobility Department, city of Munich

- Dr. Christian Scharpf, Head of Labor and Economic Affairs, city of Munich

Also present was Stefan Behrendt, Managing Director Food Logistics at DACHSER, who emphasized the project’s importance for the future of urban supply chains.

Numerous cargo bike manufacturers, media representatives, trade press, and interested citizens took the opportunity to explore the new logistics center. The hub offers over 2,000 square meters of space for pallet goods, general cargo, cold chain logistics, a workshop for service bikes, a lounge for drivers, and a showroom for cargo bikes.

A Clear Signal for the Future

For GreenZen Solutions, participating in this event is more than a milestone - it’s a clear commitment to the sustainable transformation of logistics. Together with DACHSER, B4B Logistics, and the City of Munich, we are demonstrating how technology and practice can go hand in hand to make urban spaces more livable.

We look forward to the next steps in the pilot project and to seeing our solution deployed in more cities and applications. Because the future of logistics is not only electric - it’s also cooled.
